BayWa r.e., a global leader in the development, distribution and supply of renewable energy services and solutions, will be present at the next edition of Wind Europe. There it will showcase some of the wind energy projects it has carried out, as well as the services it provides in wind farms around the world. The event will take place from April 5 to 7 at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre, Hall 1, Stand 1-E56.
With more than 30 years of experience in the development, construction, maintenance and asset management of wind farms, and 114 projects underway globally, the company will demonstrate its commitment to wind energy, which is key to addressing the current climate crisis. The company has 1.9 GW of installed wind capacity (1.5 GW in Europe) and more than 3.5 GW under management worldwide, enough to supply the equivalent of 900,000 homes with green energy.
Thus, visitors to Wind Europe will be able to learn first-hand about the company's main milestones in the wind power sector over the last year, such as:
- Entry into operation of Lyngsåsa (Sweden), the company's largest wind farm in Europe, with 94.6 MW.
- Preselection to participate in the bidding process for the first commercial-scale floating wind farm in Europe, with 250 MW in northwest France.
- Signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the city of Ulsan, South Korea, for the development of floating wind energy projects in the country.
- Obtained the rights to develop a floating wind farm with a capacity of approximately 1 GW off the northeast coast of Scotland.
- Commissioning of the largest off-grid hybrid system for the mining industry at the Fekola gold mine in Mali (West Africa).
In addition, the company has increased its wind project portfolio by 96%, from 4.3 GW in 2020 to more than 8.4 GW (data updated to January 2022). Of the latter, more than half are in the EMEA region.
In Spain, BayWa r.e. has 99 MW of wind power under management and a promising project pipeline. It has approximately 400 MW under development, about half of which already have access and connection permits. The remainder of the portfolio will be submitted in future capacity tenders.

BayWa r.e.'s Services division will also be present at Wind Europe, where it will showcase its comprehensive solutions for wind farm management. These encompass the techno-economic evaluation of operating results, optimization of plant performance and the study of the plant with management software.
